Can I bring gift boxes on board?

Gift boxes are permitted under certain conditions.

Weight and Size Limits

When carrying gift boxes as carry-on baggage, the total weight should not exceed 5 kg (the specific weight limit may vary by airline).

Regarding size, each piece of luggage should not exceed 20 x 40 x 55 cm. At security checkpoints, there are usually baskets for passengers to test for carry-on baggage. If the gift box fits within these standard baskets, it can be carried on board; otherwise, it must be checked.

Liquid Item Restrictions

Liquid items are prohibited on domestic flights (but may be checked in). This applies to liquid items in gift boxes as well.

If a gift box contains liquid items, such as cosmetics, and a passenger wishes to carry it on board, they are limited to one item of each type of cosmetic, with a container volume of no more than 100 ml, and must be placed in a separate bag for inspection. Handling of Special Liquids

For passengers arriving from abroad and transiting through a Chinese airport, duty-free liquids must be placed in an intact, sealed transparent plastic bag and presented with a purchase receipt. These liquids may only be carried on board after security inspection has confirmed their presence.
